"Do not ask us where we fly . . . Tell us where you want to go"

Fairchild and Fokker F27

The Fokker F27 is a turboprop airliner designed and built by the Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker. It was designed in the 1950s to be a replacement for the highly successful DC-3 by the Douglas Aircraft company. Fokker allied with Fairchild, a U.S. based aircraft manufacturer, to produce the F27 for the North American market. It has a high wing twin Rolls-Royce Dart engine layout with a pressurised cabin for 28 passengers. Some aircraft were used as passenger carriers, but others were easily converted to cargo and package configurations.
